I have a new iPod nano 4th generation 8GB and it says that if I hold centre bottom while listening to a song the Genius feature will appear, but it doesn’t! does someone know how to get it right?

When i use my ipod and click genius it says something about it being unavailable to the song the genius feature works on itunes for my music library but not my ipod library.
When I try using the genius feature, it tells me to register for the store to use it. It is impossible for me to register since I dont have a credit card and even the paypal option tells me to enter a credit card number. Any way I can use this without logging into the store?
I got a new ipod to replace my old one. And it says that when you’re listening to a song, you can hold the center button to get to the genius feature. But when I hold the center button, the only thing that comes up is Add to on the go, browse album, browse artist, and cancel.
