We have almost the same birthday day (I’m march 2nd) lol but I’ll be 16.
Ok some of my favorites; I don’t know what you’re reading level is exactly but most of these aren’t any harder than the Twilight series:
The Boy In the Striped Pjamas
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Keeping The Moon
Along For The Ride
The Great Gatsby
Cut
The Neverending Story
Red Dragon, The Silence of The Lambs,Hannibal, Hannibal Rising (these are awesome!!)
The Earth, My Butt, And Other Big Round Things
I liked ones by Hilary McKay when I was your age, like Indigo’s Star and Permanent Rose
Melody Carlson is also a great author.
Try some classics too like Animal Farm (very short, but very good) and To Kill a Mocking Bird. And if you like big books, Crime and Punishment might be one you’d try. It’s a higher reading level, but it’s really good.
And don’t close your mind to poetry. If you don’t think you’d like poetry, try Edgar Allen Poe. Almost of his poems are amazing, and you’d probably enjoy them.
Happy reading!

cirque du freak: the vampires assistant; (12 in all) some of the best books I’ve ever read
“Real life’s nasty. It’s cruel…. Evil often wins.” Indeed, evil begins to win when Darren and his buddies find a flier for “Cirque Du Freak,” a traveling freak show promising performances by the snake-boy, the wolf-man, and Larten Crepsley and his giant spider, Madame Octa. Darren and his friend Steve wouldn’t miss it for the world.
books by sarah dessen; she has 7 out now, all are about highschool love sort of thing
http://www.sarahdessen.com/ < -- you can check out her books there
harry potter!
eragon
where the red fern grows by wilson rawl; sad book but still good
blue is for nightmares (also a series)
the host by Stephenie Meyer; also a love story, like twilight only with aliens that are called souls
ummm, I can't think of anymore off the top of my head
I've heard that these books are good : Go ask alice, The pretties (I think it's a series), Driving with dead people, sloppy firsts, running with scissors, among the hidden series
you should check out this site, it has a list of the top books with a description and review:
http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/43.Best_Young_Adult_Books
this site is also pretty neat; you can choose the genre you want and it gives you a list of books and then a little about the book if you click on it:

You will deffinitely love these:
- For Teen Romance, I just read a book called Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr which was fantastic! It’s about this magical race called fey’s and two rulers who are fighting against eachother- the winter Queen and the summer King. In order for the summer King to defeat the Winter Queen, he must find the Summer Queen who will help give him back more power to defeat the Winter Queen. He then thinks it is Aisline who does not want to join him, as she has the ‘sight’ to see fey (they are invisible to normal humans) and has been taught that they are not trustworthy and should be avoided. This makes a terrible problem for Aisline as he wishes to court her, and she is already in love with somebody else and does not trust them. It’s really good! (The summer king is really hot too! His breath smells like the summer breeze and he glows like the hot, melting sun…)
Blurb on the back of the book:
Rule 3: Don’t stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries, although they would certainly blind her if they knew of her Sight. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world.
Rule 2: Don’t speak to invisible faeries.
But now faeries are stalking her. One of them, a beautiful boy named Keenan, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.
Rule 1: Don’t ever attract their attention.
Now it’s too late. Keenan is the Summer King and has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost …
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It’s about a reality TV show where two people from each state, called ‘tributes,’ must go on this TV show and are made to kill the each other until one survivor is left. They are not allowed to bring anything with them, and must make weapons by themselves out of the tress, rocks etc. They must learn to hide from others, camouflage themselves, hunt wild animals for food and kill the other people. The problem is, a main character, Peeter, is in love with one of the other girls who has been picked for the hunger games, and he does not want to kill her – he is madly in love with her, but she doesn’t know it. It’s an extremely gripping novel, and you see how people turn on each other for survival, and how they hide (they even climb trees and sleep in the branches to be away from other enemies). Here’s the blurb on the back of the book if you want to know more:
In a dark vision of the near future, a terrifying reality tv show is taking place. Twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live event called the Hunger Games. There is only one rule: kill or be killed. When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her sister’s place in the games, she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature.
- Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. This book is about this girl called Rose who is training to look after the Moroi – the good vampires – and protect them from harm against the Strigoi – the bad ones. However, at school, she falls in love with her instructor who is only seven years older than her, is extremely good at killing and is referred to as a ‘badass’ and a ‘god,’ since he has extremely good looks – he is Russian and apparently has “a gorgeous Russian accent.” He falls in love with her too, but it is complicated – because both of them will soon be made to protect Lissa – a Moroi, and to do that, if danger occurs, they need to jump in front of a bullet for her – not each other (which is what would happen if they pursue their love). An extremely good romance with lots of action!
- The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner. This is a fictional story about the French Revolution. It is about this boy called Yann who is a gypsie and is brought up by two other gypsies who have magical talent. In the book, Yann falls in love with one of the Aristocrats daughter’s called Sido. There are riots in the streets however and the people want the Aristocrats dead since they have so much money and they are all dying of starvation on the street, and Sido is in great danger. She is also promised to another man, Count Kalliovski, for an arranged marriage, and Yann must fight for Sido’s life and to have her for himself. Here’s some more information about it if you want to know more:
Paris, 1789.
While the aristocracy dine, dance, gossip and gamble their way to disaster, the poor and starving dream of a revolution.
Enter the boy Yann Margoza, destined to be a hero;
Tetu the dwarf, his friend and mentor;
Sido, unloved daughter of the foolish Marquis de Villeduval;
And the sinister Count Kalliovski, who holds half the aristocracy in thrall to him.
The drama moves from Paris to London and back, as the revolution gathers momentum, and the hope of liberty and the dream of equality are crushed beneath the wheel of terror. Too many secrets,
