Are ‘stage Moms/dads’ To Blame For Their Famous Childrens Downfall?

Britney being an example. Don’t get me wrong – I know is a grown and is responsible for her own behaviour. But considering how young Britney was when she started out, I wonder what her parents were expecting.
Is this what happens when showbiz parents like Lynne Spears flog kids to Hollywood?
Britney’s kid sister (actress Jamie Lynn) was being marketed as (and dressed as) a mini Britney from the age of 8 – peroxide hair, full make-up, the works.

    Yes, they most certainly play a part in their children’s fall from grace. Lynne Spears is a disgusting woman and I hope she doesn’t make another freaking dime off her daughters. When Britney was still underage, Lynne defended those skimpy outfits she wore and those provactive dance routines. Fame was more important than the welfare of her daughters.

    OH YES!!
    Why dont they just let their kids be kids! Then let them decide what they want to be when they grow up. The poor girls never even had a choice.
    Thickos!!

    Yes and they didnt complain when the money was rolling in!

  1. ❂ Sun Is Shining Says:

    Makes you wonder what kind of parent would push their children into the public eye (and the Britney/Jamie Lynn scenario is disturbing). Children don’t have an idea of the negative consequences fame can bring. Most adults do. For every Shirley Temple Black, there’s five Danny Bonaduce’s. Not good odds.

    thats a good question…i dont know the psychology of the situation well enough to be able to say for sure the these mums and dads are to blame…i remember reading an article once about Paris Hiltons mum….she was a wannabe singer/actress/model as a young girl and never managed any of it….fair play though she did marry into huge money…anyhoots the article went on to say that after having 2 daughters of her own she became obsessed with grooming them for stardom….the stardom that she wanted but never achieved…its that old chestnut of living your dreams through your kids…maybe the same can be said for Brittneys mum, its certainly hasnt done any of these young girls any favours.

    Let me answer your question with another question;
    Would you buy Lynne Spears book on Parenting?
    I would not.

    yes.

    I feel so sorry for Britney Spears. Her mother was probably just like Paris Hiltons (failed showbiz star) and wanted to experience it through her children. I hope shes proud of herself,though to be honest I reckon shes loving all the limelight.I hope Britney gets better soon and maybe she can be happy for once in her life.
